Biren Kalindi is a leading Natua & Chau dance artist from Purulia. He leads a troupe named Biren Kalindi Chau Naach Gosthi that was formed in the year 2006. There are 20 members in the troupe. The troupe specializes in enacting plays from mythological stories like Ramayan, Mahabharat and the Puranas. However, it also presents acts based on issues of social concern. The troupe has performed across West Bengal and in Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Udaipur, Ahmedabad and Odisha. It has also performed overseas, in France, Germany, Switzerland, Lithuania and China. Biren Kalindi represented India at the Baltica International Folklore Festival, held at Vilnius in Lithuania from July 4 – 9, 2017.
Biren Kalindi with 4 Chau artists of Purulia participated in the India Summer Days Festival in Karlsruhe, Germany in July 2018.
In 2019, Biren Kalindi with his team participated in the India Summer Days Festival in Karlsruhe, from July 13-14. This was their second consecutive year at the festival at the crowed was very excited to see them performing the vibrant Chau at the Festival stage.
Biren Kalindi participated at the 24th edition of Urkult Festival in Sweden.
